What is Mental Health?
Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioural, and emotional wellbeing – it’s all about how we think, feel, and behave. It can affect daily life, relationships, and even physical health. The bottom line is mental health impacts your ability to enjoy life, to gain balance, to handle stress, make decisions and relate to others. So many factors contribute to your mood that you can’t control but managing an underlying condition along with biological factors and life experiences can take its toll.
Here at The Private Clinic Group each of us know that it can feel daunting (or quite frankly terrifying!) to take the first step towards getting help with understanding and improving your mental health. You can be rest assured that our experienced practitioners will warmly welcome you.
We offer psychiatric evaluation and initial assessment through to diagnosis and ongoing treatment plans, which can include psychiatric medication and psychotherapy treatments (with not a white jacket in sight!)
Why might you decide to have a Private Mental Health Assessment?
- You may not be receiving the support you need from your GP.
- You want a second (or third) opinion, and your GP isn’t able to provide it.
- You need to access support more quickly, for example if there is a long waiting list for therapy in your area.
- You’re looking for a specialist treatment or more choice of treatments and providers.
- You want more intensive support, or to have support over a longer period.
- You need access to treatment that isn’t available through the NHS.
Seeing a Psychiatrist on the NHS can take some time, your GP has to refer you to your local mental health team who will then start the process to determine if you should see psychiatrist for assessment. The Private Clinic Group can provide a full Mental Health Assessment face to face at our Clinic in Radlett or Online with our Consultant Psychiatrists.
Diagnosis, Treatment Planning & Prescription
Following completion of pre-assessment forms and your 121, diagnosis will be made and a person-centred treatment plan for recovery and management is discussed and agreed upon. This will include medication planning and agreeing your bespoke therapeutic treatment options. This can all happen as quickly as you wish.
Specialist medical reports for GPs can be prepared after assessment giving treatment advice and medical recommendations. More comprehensive Independent Expert Psychiatric Reports can also be prepared upon request. The Private Clinic Group has more than ten years of experience in preparing psychiatric reports for the Courts, Solicitors and Occupational Health departments.
